With winter approaching—regardless of the unseasonably warm weather here in North Carolina—how are you preparing your social media for the next month? The holidays can be a quiet time for engagement, but that doesn’t mean your content has to be stale or lose its usual “sparkle”. Instead, take this time to experiment and get creative! By planning ahead and using seasonal lingo, here are some tips for keeping your content fresh:
Utilize Past Content and Big Wins From the Year:
The end of a year is a great time to turn big news, high-performing posts and other exciting content into recap or “looking back” posts. You can reflect on what your audience found most engaging to remind them of the great things that happened throughout the year and build excitement for 2025. Whether through carousel posts on Instagram or TikTok featuring “the best moments of 2024,” past content can keep your audience engaged during the holiday season.
Play into Holiday Themes and Trends:
AV tech doesn’t go away during the holidays, in fact, it’s used more for lighting, visual displays and other forms of holiday cheer. Instead of sharing a generic, red-and-green post, get creative and share how AV can be used throughout the season. This could include blogs on “AV Holiday Hacks” or LinkedIn posts educating viewers on how AV systems can lift spirits and provide entertainment, both inside and outside the home.
Leverage Interactive Content:
Many audiences will slow down to reset and relax over winter break. If they’re scrolling on social media or engaging with your content, use interactive features like polls or Q&As to capture their attention. You could even ask viewers to share their own experiences with AV during the holidays.
Or… you can always take a few weeks off to reset and plan for January. Whatever you decide, keep your messaging authentic and your content purposeful. The holiday lull doesn’t mean you need to ghost your audience, so plan ahead, get creative with your content and have fun!
That’s all for this blog! Check back in for the last 2024 issue in just a few weeks, #AVtweeps.
